About The Wider Lens
Insights Today. Impact Tomorrow.
The Wider Lens is an independent digital publication focused on the ideas, technologies, businesses and economic shifts shaping Pakistan's digital future.
We cover the stories behind the headlines — from freelancing and IT exports to artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, digital businesses and the infrastructure supporting the next phase of the digital economy.
Our aim is simple: to explain not only what happened, but why it matters, what is changing, and what readers should watch next.
What We Cover
Freelancing & Digital Work — skills, platforms, market trends and developments affecting independent professionals
Pakistan's Digital Economy — IT exports, digital businesses, economic trends and policy developments
AI & Technology — emerging technologies, practical developments and the infrastructure shaping the AI economy
Business & Markets — the wider economic forces behind technology-driven growth and changing opportunities
Our Editorial Approach
We use publicly available information, official data, company announcements, research reports and other credible sources when developing our articles.
We aim to add context and independent analysis rather than simply reproduce information published elsewhere. When an article relies substantially on a particular report or source, we identify that source clearly.
Our editorial content is separate from advertising or sponsored material. Where appropriate, sponsored or commercial content will be clearly identified.
If we identify a factual error in a published article, we aim to correct it and update the relevant information.
Our Purpose
The Wider Lens exists to look beyond the headline.
Technology is changing how people work. Digital businesses are changing where opportunities come from. AI is changing both the software people use and the physical infrastructure required to support it.
We want to make those changes easier to understand — particularly for readers interested in Pakistan's digital economy and the wider global forces influencing it.
